Eleven long years after a court order, Big Tobacco is finally coming through on its obligation to advertise about the dangers of smoking. Of particular note, the facts include (1) that smoking kills an average of 1,200 Americans every day, and (2) that more people die every year from smoking than from murder, AIDS, suicide, drugs, car crashes and alcohol COMBINED. Moveover, 9 out of 10 smokers began the habit in their teens, emphasizing the value and importance of prevention. So, before you mindlessly light up another cigarette, or vape, to take the edge off, don’t forget that tobacco addiction is just as bad and dangerous as any other. It might take longer to get you, but it leads to an awful and painful end of life.
